The name Fabergé has long been a byword for luxury. Combining an entrepreneurial vision for craftsmanship with innovative material sourcing and technical ability, Carl Fabergé created an astonishing array of bespoke jeweled and enameled objects at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century.

Much of the story is familiar, but less well known is the important part played by the London branch. Opened in 1903, and the only one outside Russia, it became a choice destination for Edwardian high society and an international clientele. Featuring more than 120 pieces, from delicate flowers to Imperial Easter eggs, and with contributions from leading experts, Kieran McCarthy and Hanne Faurby's Fabergé Romance to Revolution celebrates the enduring fascination with this master craftsman's works.

Arrived in perfect condition. Plastic wrapped, thank goodness, as I put the cardboard box it came in on the floor and one of my puppies peed on it. Soaked thru the box, but the plastic wrapping protected the book from the puppy damage. Beautiful, very large Hardback book on Faberge. Spectacular photos and commentary. Will join my fabulous collection of Coffee Table books. Perfect addition to your Faberge collection. 5 stars *****. Thank you!

This is the catalogue of the V&A exhibition Fabergé: Romance to Revolution, the exhibition was superb and covered Fabergé's London office as well as the Imperial Russian ones. The exhibits were exquisite, such beauty and craftsmanship, sometimes in deceptively simple looking pieces such as the flowers and the Chamber Cossacks, compared to the Imperial Easter Eggs and other spectacular jewels on display. And this catalogue is also of superb quality matching the exhibits and enabling an armchair revisit or its text and illustrations are more than sufficient to create that virtual visit.
