I have read the whole book in a drive from Vienna to Slovenia - this should show you how thrilling this book was.
Unfortunately it ended too soon and now I have to wait for the next book - please hurry up, Paige ♥
Jessie has just spent the summer getting to know her new family after her mother passed away, now she's back at school in the UK with her school teacher step dad. Jessie is still trying to lead a normal life before the media finds out who she is.
She starts back at school thinking of her new found friends in L.A and her old best friend in England, she makes a new best friend which is also the new girl at school.
She is adjusting well, she starts to date Tom who she was going to start dating before she left for the summer. Things are starting to go really well until she goes to see Johnny and his family in his England home and they go out for dinner only to get snapped at by the media, now everyone is asking who she is - girls from school make a joke that she is johnnys daughter. And before she knows what's happening it's all over the papers that she is. Luckily the night before she tells Tom she feels she can trust him.
She has only ever told three friends now who her dad really is. Not knowing who betrayed her, she finally finds out from new friend Libby that it was the new best friend to her old best friend.
Johnny is really worried about her being At school whilst the media are a circus so he sends Sam over to be her bodyguard.
Things go really bad when Jessie feels like a prisoner in johnnys home in England that she manages to slip ass Sam and go to Tom's, however there is a kidnap attempt and Johnny feels she will be safer going back to L.A until everything claims down.
Back in L.A she's back with her friends and Jack, who she kissed over the summer. By the end of the visit she has started a whole new life in L?a and she has to make the choice of going back to England or making a home with her family in L.A.
I am not telling you anything else as it to good a read and you need to read it for yourself all I will say is Paige has left it on a to be countiuned. So I really can't wait for the next instalment.
This book had me laughing my socks off and crying my heart out, it's written so differently to the books like Johnny be good, baby be mine, pictures of Lilly but still written in the easiest way of following, I'm not a big reader and normally put books down however I couldn't put this book down.
Please keep up the great work Paige and I can't wait for your next book to be out!
I really like Paige Toon as an author but I found this book and the first one about Jessie Jefferson a bit tiresome. As a mature adult, there is only so much teenage wittering I can put up with. All that teenage angst about boyfriends, drinking, being rebellious etc belongs more in girly comics than in a book which is supposed to be read by grown up people. I found that I flicked over the pages about the parties, drinking, getting wasted, etc and just read the bits where the interaction involved someone over the age of 18. I do hope that if Miss Toon writes any more books about Jessie's life that she moves on a bit to when Jessie is a bit more grown up. It's all a bit Barbie & Ken otherwise.
