O autorze

Kate and Kay Allinson owned a restaurant together on the Wirral, where Kate was head chef. Together they created the Pinch of Nom blog with the aim of teaching people how to cook. This was bought as a present for Mum, so she now has the complete set of all the main Pinch of Nom recipe books. The only downside is that it's a Paperback and all the other books were Hardback, so this looks a little out of place. I know this was probably done to fit with the "budget" theme as Hardback books tend to be more expensive, it's just a shame that there wasn't an option available for Hardback to match the rest of the set.

As with all Pinch of Nom books it has a nice selection of recipes, with this book focussing on "budget" ones.

The budget recipes seem to trend towards batch-cooking, or larger tray-bake style, to get more for your money and allow you to have spare portions to store for a later date. This is my usual style of cooking anyway, as I live by myself, to cook 4 portions of something, eat 1 or 2 and freeze the others for later. It works out much cheaper that way, rather than buying smaller packets of things and cooking one portion things every single day.

It's got some "variation on a theme" recipes, eg, several different versions of Mac and Cheese throughout the book, which may give you ideas for a "twist" on a recipe that you hadn't considered before.

Overall, another good book from Pinch of Nom.

Lovely book to cook from. Easy to follow using everyday household food items ( I’ve not had to buy to many new condiments to make a meal) gives you calories/carbs per serving as well as if it gluten free,vegetarian ect. They also have suggestions for substituting. The meals are easy and quick to make as well as tasty and filling.
