In addition to her fifteen previous novels, Marian has also written three collections of journalism, upon which hit BBC Radio 4 show Between Ourselves was based. Marian co-hosts the popular show Now You’re Asking with actress Tara Flynn for BBC Radio 4. In 2022, she was named the British Book Awards Author of the Year.

Marian lives in Dún Laoghaire, Dublin. My Favourite Mistake is her sixteenth novel.

have seen it at my friends's place and decided to order it. it is all about sweets: cakes, cupcakes, cookies, chocolates etc. there is even a section of Liquid Cakes, which made with coffee, tea, cola and so on.

Si on saute la préface, on croit avoir affaire à un manuel de pâtisserie illustré de superbes photos, très bien présenté, agrémenté de commentaires brillamment amusants.
Mais en fait Marian Keyes ,pourtant heureuse dans sa vie privée, et comblée de réussite littéraire, une des plus grands auteurs irlandaises, fut soudain victime d'une dépression absolument gravissime qui la mena même en maison de repos. Aucun traitement n'y faisait. Un jour, pour essayer de ne pas penser au suicide, et occuper une heure après l'autre, elle fit un gâteau. Et encore et encore, de plus en plus, jusqu'à ce que son entourage, gorgé et gavé, "se cache ", (elle en offrait même à des inconnus dans la rue!) et c'était parti. Elle dut s'équiper, elle suivit des cours, et tout prit une telle ampleur qu'elle finit par publier toutes ses recettes. De là à dire qu'elle a guéri de sa dépression grâce à la pâtisserie, non, elle le reconnait elle-même, mais elle est mieux.
Et les recettes ? Simples et délicieuses. Commentées dans les plus petits détails, parfaites pour les nulles en cuisine ! Et quel humour !
Quand on aime cet excellent auteur, et qu'on a envie de faire des gâteaux, quel meilleur moyen que ce beau et bon livre ?

Hi. My name is Bijou and I am a cookbook-aholic...And a British chick lit-aholic. This particular cookbook marries my addictions. Some of the recipes sound a bit odd but that would be because it is filled with British recipes. I've actually read through it several times and cannot wait to get baking! Thanks, Marian Keyes!!
