O autorze

Robert Harris is the author of fifteen bestselling novels: the Cicero Trilogy - Imperium, Lustrum and Dictator - Fatherland, Enigma, Archangel, Pompeii, The Ghost, The Fear Index, An Officer and a Spy, which won four prizes including the Walter Scott Prize for Historical Fiction, Conclave, Munich, The Second Sleep, V2 and Act of Oblivion. His work has been translated into forty languages and nine of his books have been adapted for cinema and television. He lives in West Berkshire with his wife, Gill Hornby.

This is the first book by Robert Harris that I read, and I'm glad that I tried it out. Having seen the movie I knew the plot, but the book adds a lot of detail and humor that isn't in the movie. Since reading this book I have also read 11 of Robert Harris's other books and they have all been great works of historical fiction. If you are a fan of historical fiction and haven't read any of his books, they are definitely worth trying!

I bought this book after coming to know that Roman Polanski's movie The Ghost Writer was based on this book. I loved the movie and I knew I had to get my hands on the book.

I bought the second hand version of the book from Amaze books. The quality is brilliant, almost like new. Highly recommend the seller.

... ne serait sans doute que pure coïncidence, surtout quand on sait que Robert Harris fut très proche de Tony Blair et du New Labour dans les années 90... The Ghost Writer est un très bon roman qui nous plonge dans les arcanes du pouvoir : le narrateur est payé pour écrire les mémoires d'un ancien Premier Ministre britannique à la place de celui-ci. Invité par ce dernier pour faire connaissance dans une sublime demeure de la côte Est des Etats-Unis, l'écrivain va se retrouver très vite pris au piège, sous le charme du politicien, coincé entre l'épouse, la secrétaire-maîtresse et son éditeur, tout en cherchant à comprendre ce qui a poussé son propre prédécesseur au suicide... Une pente dangereuse ! Mais contrairement aux autres protagonistes, le narrateur a des principes...Tableau peu reluisant des dessous de la politique et de la diplomatie internationales, avec ses compromissions et ses basses oeuvres, The Ghost Writer tient en haleine jusqu'au dernier moment, avec sa pirouette finale. On ne peut qu'applaudir tant de savoir-faire !
