Her purse was found, discarded and empty, in an Edinburgh bus station, and hopes were raised, and then dashed. Police even talked to psychics in their efforts to find her. It was to become Britain’s longest-running juvenile missing person inquiry—and Sharon was at the forefront of every lead and effort. In this loving memoir, for the first time, Sharon tells the full story of the difficult years since Vicky’s disappearance. She writes touchingly about their childhood and movingly of how the family coped when, tragically, two years after Vicky’s disappearance, their mother died and, though barely out of her teens herself, Sharon decided to bring up her two other young siblings alone. The search for Vicky is now over but the story will not end until Sharon knows what really happened to her.

I really felt as though I knew Vicky the way her sister discribed her in this story of her abduction. Vicky sounded such a lovely young woman.
It was a very interesting although sad book especially when you learn how old her mother was when she passed away. Such a young age and obviously caused through the torment of her missing daughter. Sad also that the family were torn apart because of a family dispute.
I enjoyed reading this book and it felt hard to put down.

im just about finished the book only got about 5 pages to go but i have totally loved reading it and to think any human could b so horrible to another human being but think it was better because i stay in Falkirk and know the places Sharon was talking about so maybe for me it was tones better.

This book was so well written I almost felt as though I was there. Its a very sad story and my heart goes out to Sharon the sister.

Sharon Hamilton's love for her sister shines through in this book. She was very brave and selfless. I just wish it could have had a happier ending for her and her family. Very sad.
